It's all gone a bit Mekong

We started the next stage of our trip in Hanoi, visiting Halong Bay and heading all the way down the Vietnamese coast through Hue, Hoi An and Nha Trang before arriving in Saigon. From there we're did a tour of the Mekong Delta before travelling by boat into Cambodia and Phnom Penh. Then it was on to Siem Reap (where we met my parents) and Angkor Wat.

After Cambodia we spent about a month in Thailand. Bangkok was first up followed by Koh Samui and then Chiang Mai. Finally we headed up into Laos via Chiang Rai. We spent a week or so in Luang Prabang and then a few days in Vientiane (the map below show's that last part wrong - Google doesn't know about the boat to Luang Prabang from the border.)

At this point the itinerary has changed slightly. Because we want to go to Kerala in India, the cheapest flights seem to go via Kuala Lumpur, so we're spending a few days in Malaysia before heading to Kochi in India.

  1. I assume you will be taking in the delights of Halong Bay? Truly stunning. And be sure to visit Hoi An (just south of Da Nang) - one of my all time favorite places in the entire world. Not to be missed.
