A quick shower, a spot of breakfast then we hit the streets. If you want an idea of how a Chinese city looked centuries ago then Pingyao's the place to come.

It's just stunning. Yep, the two main streets are a bit touristy but make no mistake, this isn't a theme park, there's a functioning city at work here. Even the monkey thinks so.

You can get a 3-day pass for all the city's museums and the walls for 150rmb, so that's what we did.
